New Features

This sprint the team worked primarily on grouped table functionality improvements, as well as updating Optix social integrations that were previously outdated/broken. We also focused on a few quality-of-life improvements for geometric maps, a visual type that has been used more consistently the past month or so.

In a recent sprint, we released grouped table custom table expressions, but only allowed users to add one custom expression per table. A few users requested multiple expressions within one table, which required a few minor tweaks to the original expression logic. Users can now highlight individual table expressions (by clicking the gear icon for the table expression) and also shift the ordering of table expressions by dragging-and-dropping. It should work similar to how regular custom measures work. Please let us know if there are any other features you would like to see implemented with custom table expressions.

We also noticed a few loose ends in regards to custom measure grouping for grouped tables. We tried to resolve those issues this sprint. If you saw group by fields shifting while adding/removing measures in the past, this new update should mitigate those issues now!

Another feature that was well received last sprint was the implementation of latitude / longitude for Google Analytics 4 datasets. However, many users requested more individualized results for the United States. Originally we mapped all latitude/longitude to the centralized point of each country. However, for the United States, we added the ability to map to cities instead of the country as a whole. This feature should help assist with providing more in-depth data while building geometric maps in the future. You may also notice that we auto-select latitude/longitude for this visual type, if it is available in your dataset.

Google Ads and Microsoft Ads were updated this sprint. Those connections should be working fully again now in Optix. We also made sure to now hide any unsupported metric combinations.
